I get a hopeless feeling sometimes that I am one of a few people who know and care about American Exceptionalism. A feeling that no one will stand with me in fighting for the ideals that made America the Shining City on a Hill. A feeling that so many have forgotten what the Greatest Generation did, not just for us but for the entire world. I hear hateful remarks about American Greed and calls for the end of Capitalism.
Guys, Saturday was, above all, like a much-needed HUG from my fellow West Tennesseeans. I needed to hear the speeches, see the flags waving, hear the children laughing, and hear the cheers and chants of U S A, U S A, U S A. I needed to see the outpouring of love for our WWII veterans, for our Vietnam and Korean Veterans, for our Active Duty Military, and for the future leaders of our great country.
P. J. Kellogg told us how it felt to receive love from home……..well I can only imagine the overwhelming feeling he felt that fateful day. But, judging from the feeling I experienced Saturday and extrapolating from it, he surely felt a hug from West Tennessee.
Thank you Mike and all the Slater Raiders for the HUG and for allowing me to once again realize that WE SURROUND THEM (the soldiers) and yet I feel surrounded by Great Americans!!!!! God Bless you all and God Bless America!!!!!!!
Slater Raiders( I am one of them) read the true history of our country and realize that this government in power wants to take all that we hold true and value as Americans away. Events like the “Freedom Celebration” are so honoring to GOD, our patriots, our Veterans, our Constitution, and to liberty. May our LORD raise up mighty men of GOD who value America as a “bright light on a hill” and who are willing once again to give their all if necessary so that we can remain free. The present government does not want us to hold “Freedom Celebrations” or Freedom Forums. Men and Women, listen to the call. We know that if we loose our freedom, it is due to our letting it occur. “Don’t get weary in well doing for in due time you will reap if you do not give up”. Galatians 6:9. Don’t get weary. Do what is right and STAND UP for what is right in the sight of our LORD JESUS>
